Search Marketing Content Strategist:

Search Marketing/Content Creation

  • Work to improve the content on our existing websites by working with our existing writers and finding new writers
  • Create outlines for new content for websites: Find gaps in website content, perform keyword analysis to find search intent of users and create an outline for the best possible content on that subject.
  • Work with writers to get the best content created.
  • Manage website content: Post up new topics to the websites, optimize for conversions, optimize for people searching the internet and optimize for user experience.
  • Manage outsourced writers by keeping a highly organized flow of work in progress, new ideas and work completed.
  • Come up with ideas for blog posts (can ask writers too) for monthly blog posts for 2 websites

Competitor Analysis/Content Gap Analysis

  • Utilize various tools to analyze competitors to find new content opportunities.
  • Analyze existing content using various tools to find where content can be improved and new content added to increase website traffic.

Traffic Analysis

  • Track rankings and monitor new traffic from new content created
  • Monitor performance of new pages. Optimize for conversions or time on site

Social Optimization

  • Promote blog posts and content we create for each site to their respective facebook and twitter accounts
  • Promote newsworthy articles or content (not written by us) to our respective social accounts

Education and Experience

  • The perfect candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree, at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Plus if you have a degree in English, Journalism or related field
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO and web analytics a plus
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and WordPress is a plus.
  • Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Candidate must have a strong work ethic with attention to detail along with strong problem-solving skills.

Google Adwords & Bing PPC Marketing

  • Manage Google Adwords PPC marketing for existing account
  • Perform n-gram analysis
  • Constantly monitor search terms and add negatives as needed
  • Always be testing various ads and utilize tools to maximize performance
  • Monitor CPAs constantly and ensure they are within reasonable levels
  • Test new landing pages and perform split tests using software to optimize conversions

  • Monitor quality of leads sent to buyers. Try to increase volume where quality is good and decrease where it is not.
  • Monitor quality of calls. Work with call tracking using our systems.
  • Work with content team to help identify topics that are not included on organic pages so they can help grow search volume from the organic side of the company.
  • Use Google Analytics to track trends of landing pages and performance

Technical Support & Optimization of Websites

  • Various ad-hoc projects that have to do with backend and frontend work of our WordPress websites.
  • Add SSL to websites and using proper redirects to ensure no impact to search rankings.
  • Optimize WordPress template to make content easier to add and streamline processes.
  • Create and test new landing pages. Can start with templates, but should have the ability to code forms and do some intermediate photoshop work on them.
  • Help with database management of our lead database and ensure everything is properly coded and flowing to the right places.

Education and Experience

  • The perfect candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree, at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Prefer someone with a degree in Marketing or Computer Science.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO and web analytics.
  • The ideal candidate should be analytical and comfortable analyzing and modifying large excel files of data.
